Materials:

  • 1x12 pine board, 8 feet long
  • 2x4 pine boards, 4 feet long (2)
  • 1x4 pine boards, 3 feet long (2)
  • Wood glue
  • 1 1/4-inch wood screws
  • 2-inch wood screws
  • Clamps
  • Drill
  • Screwdriver
  • Saw
  • Sandpaper
  • Wood stain or paint (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the 1x12 pine board to the desired length for your table. The standard length for a back sofa table is between 4 and 6 feet.
  2. Attach the two 2x4 pine boards to the back of the 1x12 pine board using wood glue and 1 1/4-inch wood screws. Make sure the 2x4s are flush with the top and bottom edges of the 1x12.
  3. Attach the two 1x4 pine boards to the front of the 1x12 pine board using wood glue and 1 1/4-inch wood screws. Make sure the 1x4s are flush with the top and bottom edges of the 1x12.
  4. Sand the entire table smooth using sandpaper.
  5. Stain or paint the table if desired.
  6. Allow the table to dry completely.
  7. Attach the table to the wall using 2-inch wood screws. Make sure the screws are long enough to penetrate the wall studs.

Tips:

  • If you want to add a shelf, you can cut a 1x12 pine board to the desired length and width and attach it to the back of the table using wood glue and 1 1/4-inch wood screws.
  • If you want to add drawers, you can purchase pre-made drawers or build your own using plywood and drawer slides.
  • You can customize the look of your table by adding decorative trim, moldings, or hardware.
